BLANK CANVAS
Streetwear and luxury fashion have been on a collision course for some time now thanks to Virgil Abloh, the late Men’s artistic director of Louis Vuitton. Abloh’s vision has redefined the boundaries between these two seemingly disparate worlds and brought them to new heights. Louis Vuitton’s latest release this month — the White Canvas: LV Trainer in Residence collection — marks another significant moment in this ongoing cultural shift. The collection features limited edition reinterpretations of the iconic LV Trainer sneaker by some of the world’s most renowned artists.
Inspired by Abloh’s daring approach to fashion, The White Canvas represents a blank slate where contemporary artists can express their creative voices. The first phase of the project features three legendary pioneers of the 1980s New York underground scene: Lady Pink, Lee Quiñones and Rammellzee. Each artist brings their unique perspective to the LV Trainer sneaker, resulting in a visually intriguing and culturally significant collection — a hallmark that Abloh has set forth throughout his career.
