By now, we don’t need to tell you that the beauty industry is one of the major contributors to pollution. A couple of years ago, sustainability conversations would cycle around: “There’s this brilliant sustainable beauty brand that you might like. It’ll cost you – but it’s fully recyclable, so it won’t hurt the environment! And it’s cruelty-free!” They were those niche brands that had the sustainable credentials many of us were looking for. Although revolutionary, consumers still expectations more, what with exorbitant prices being one of them. Founders would often reason: “In order to cut down our carbon footprint and save our planet, we need to increase the price.”
