More Drop Than Cop

After a brief sojourn abroad, I’m taking stock of the limited real estate in my overstuffed closet and I am annoyed. The last of my boxes from my time in London has arrived and the unpacking has become a tricky game of Tetris I do not feel up to tackling. What annoys me most lies in the darkest recesses of my wardrobe: my own secret pile of shame. There hangs all the silly shit I’ve accumulated over a number of years – much of which I’ve not worn – but am loathe to dispose of because of the sheer amount of money wasted.

There’s a bright coral jacket from Comme des Garçons Homme that I bought because it was all about pop colors one spring. A rather expensive T-shirt from Calvin Klein is the product of me feeling deluded enough to jump on the athleisure bandwagon (it would be my first and only attempt); alongside it, a number of tailored shirts I had made because everyone was doing the dandy thing when my heart has always lain with workwear.
