Boasting a super-modern, utilitarian collection, Prada’s iconic fabric – nylon – makes a convincing comeback for Autumn/ Winter 2018 in a style reminiscent of the crazy heydays of the 90s. Men’s Folio recently attended Prada’s press presentation in Seoul to find out more.
“The show – composed of 44 looks for men and 15 for women – is divided into well-defined groups characterised by a different badge/label worn as an accessory. With this detail, Prada intends to ‘catalog’ looks into different ‘human species’ and state how each of us is controlled and observed – and therefore not completely free – in our modern world,” the show notes explained.
When Miuccia Prada decided to present her Autumn/Winter 2018 collection in a warehouse stacked with crates and objects stamped with thought-provoking symbols, her intention of showcasing Prada’s industrial soulfulness through these new interpretations was obvious and unmistakable. The show, which opened with looks in almost all-black “Pocone” with ID tags featuring the new logo and cut-out Polaroid head shots of the models, definitely snagged attention and got people talking.
