In KARLIE KLOSS’s charmed world, fashion and technology collide, making her a role model for the ages, finds PARIZAAD KHAN SETHI
Social media has elevated fangirling from a hobby into a competitive sport. We’re privy to the previously hidden recesses of the lives of the famous; so much so that, now, choosing your celebrity spirit animal says as much about you as it does about them.
Fans of supermodel Karlie Kloss, for instance, are what we would classify as sexy-smart—girls or women who embrace glamour and sophistication but are confident enough to geek out about computers or physics and want to network and unleash their nerd flag at SXSW instead of Burning Man.
Kloss has become a beacon for those aiming to make the most of both, beauty and brains. She talks often about her love for science and math and how she started taking programing classes despite her supermodel status. Her non-profit venture, Kode With Klossy, teaches young girls how to code, paving the way for them to be future tech innovators.
We caught up with Kloss at the launch of Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl Eau de Parfum Légère, to understand what fuels her.
