Seemingly trivial to some, I think it can make or break a session if you don’t have these items with you.
First up are my polarised sunglasses. Although they don’t offer any additional protection from UV rays, polarised sunglasses are far superior than shades, because they eliminate glare from shiny surfaces, namely water.
As anglers, we should all know just how important it is to get your location correct, and polarised sunglasses play a very important role here. By spending a little time observing the water with them on, you will see far more than you would do without them.
Even in coloured water, you will be able to make out the dark shapes of fish moving under the surface, enabling you to make a far more informed choice when picking your swim.
These glasses are a fantastic tool when stalking fish at close quarters, as you can see far more of your quarry’s movements as you’re creeping up on them. In addition, you will be able to spot bites when surface fishing far better with them on.

One of his favourite methods for this cunning species is a maggot feeder with a short hook link.
