Introducing The New Praetor 500 And 600 Different By Design
Global Aviator|October 2019
Embraer has launched two new aircraft: the Praetor 500 midsize jet and the Praetor 600 super-midsize business jet.
Introducing The New Praetor 500 And 600 Different By Design

The Praetor 600 is expected to be certified and enter service in the second quarter of 2019, followed by the Praetor 500 in the third quarter of 2019. Two Praetor 600 prototypes are already undergoing flight tests.

The super-midsize market is already one of the most competitive segments, with Bombardier, Cessna Embraer, Dassault and Gulfstream all competing for buyers. The means that the Praetor 600 is up against stiff opposition from the Gulfstream G280, Bombardier Challenger 350, Dassault Falcon 2000 and the Cessna Citation Longitude (which is in certification now).

Praetor 600

The Praetor 600 is the best performing super-midsize jet ever developed, surpassing all its main design goals and becoming capable of flying beyond 4,000 nautical miles in long-range cruise speed or beyond 3,700 nautical miles at Mach .80 from runways shorter than 4,500ft, complemented by an outstanding payload capability. It is the first super-midsize jet with full fly-by-wire technology that not only makes every flight the smoothest but also the most efficient possible.

With the Praetor 600 having the same wing area as the Legacy 500, its higher operating weights translate into a wing loading as high as 88.7 lb. per sq. ft. FBW makes the aircraft ride as though it has cushy digital shock absorbers in all three axes.
