Mi-28NE 'Night Super Hunter'

Andrei Boginsky, Russian Helicopters’ CEO on 24 November, confirmed that serial production of the military helicopter had been launched. It was primarily designed to search for, and destroy low-speed air targets, tanks, armoured and non-armoured vehicles, low-speed aerial targets destruction, air reconnaissance, and target designation for other helicopters and aircraft. as well as enemy manpower in daytime and at night, in all weather conditions.

Serial production has begun. Under the current defence order we will provide 98 helicopters by 2027. The first two have been delivered for testing, one is currently involved in government certification tests, while the other is being used for experiments with new rotor blades that increase speed, Boginsky was quoted as saying by TASS.

The first Mi-28NM helicopter was made in 2009. It is an upgraded, modernisation variant of the Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopter, it differs significantly from its predecessor. On board radar equipment comprises an innovative helmet-mounted imaging and pointing system. The helicopter is equipped with an N025 radar station, and a new EW system. The brand-new 360-degree radar and advanced fire control system ensures faster target acquisition and enables the use of precision-guided weapons. In addition to that, the Mi-28 NM helicopter has a modified fuselage and modernised engines; a radio-electronic onboard system and a target sight system; an auxiliary power plant and equipment for communication with unmanned aerial vehicles.
