BetaFPV makes getting a bird’s-eye-view easier than ever!

GETTING STARTED IN FPV

I've always wanted to explore the world of FPV drones, but I found myself intimidated by its complex nature. I knew that entering FPV required strategic selection and assembly of certain components that were required for flying. For example you need the drone, controller, goggles, camera (transmitter), receiver, batteries, and charger, and they all need to be compatible.

Generally speaking, when building an FPV drone I realised that I would have to select a specific number of components to build a craft I was capable of flying. Then I would have to deal with purchasing a controller and understanding its protocols, which are another big learning curve when entering FPV. I found it all a bit too much to take in.

The game changed, however, when I recently stumbled across a company called BetaFPV (betafpv. com). I’d noticed they’ve developed a couple of affordable FPV educational kits that were extremely simple to use. I felt this was a perfect opportunity to try and enter the FPV market without breaking the bank.

BetaFPV are a leading drone company who specialise in micro quadcopters (called “Whoops”), which are a great way to get into the industry. I’ve experienced their customer and technical support to be first-class well.

Recently I’ve been testing the BetaFPV Whoop Racing Starter Kit 2, which costs just $129.00. The kit comes in a portable hard-shell carry case that fits every part including the drone, controller and goggles.

The entire package consists of a Whoop quadcopter, transmitter (including battery), FPV goggles, four 31mm 4-blade propellers, two dipole 5.8G antennas, a battery charger and tester, two 300mAh 1S 30C batteries, a propeller removal tool, user manual, and customized carry case.

PRODUCT REVIEW: RC PLANE STANDS BENCHTOP MODEL

I’m a sucker for shop stuff. I buy tools I will probably never use just because they are cool, or I might need to use them someday. When Glen from RC Plane Stands reached out about a review, however, I knew as soon as I browsed their website that I would be receiving something I would use a lot, maybe even daily.
