When used properly, smoke systems can add a great deal to your flight presentation. The uniqueness it gives to specific segments of your flight routine will increase their appeal and pizzazz to both the spectators and your fellow pilots alike.
The Sullivan SkyWriter Pump electronically controlled smoke pump for onboard smoke systems, uses the same ultrasonically sealed direct drive pump head as Sullivan’s other quality electric fuel pumps, and uses a miniature microprocessor controlled electronic pulse drive speed control. You can set smoke rate with your transmitter trim, and mix the smoke pump with the throttle channel if desired. It requires a 6V to 12V battery packs. Note: For best results battery of 9.6V or less are recommended unless higher fluid volume is required. The pump weighs 3.9 ounces and is 3.8 x 1.4 x 1.4 inches. Included are a filter, smoke tubing, a length of Neoprene tubing, and an anti-siphon valve. Estimated smoke fluid burn rate 3 to 6 ounces per minute. When installing the Skywriter, you will need to gather the following materials:
