What Does the Wellness World Have in Store? Monique Mckenzie Finds Out
Believe it or not, the wellness industry is now worth trillions of dollars globally and while we’ve become familiar with everything from cannabidiol (CBD) to edible insects, it doesn’t stop there. Here are the latest and greatest trends set to take the wellness world by storm.
Healing spaces
Healing cafes are a mix between a coffee shop and your lounge: a place to get your caffeine fix and kick back with comfy sofas, soothing music and diffusers. They’re already popular in South Korea where places like Shim Story and Mr Healing are leading the way offering massage chairs, eye masks, heated beds and beanbags alongside the usual café fare. Meditation pods can be found in London cafés like YeoTown and places like Pop&Rest, where people can grab a private spot to recharge. The idea is to improve mental wellbeing and offer a relaxing environment in the middle of a bustling city. It’s even predicted we’ll start to see crystal therapists in healing cafés for those after an extra energy boost with their cuppa.
Beauty on the inside
No longer are we relying purely on potent face creams to improve our skin, we’re now looking at internal solutions to give us that outer glow. Collagen continues to be the miracle worker for hair, skin and nails. It makes up over 75 percent of our skin, but our body’s collagen production begins to decline in our mid-20s. Enter supplementation. You can take it as a tablet or buy it in powder form to mix into drinks. If you’re keen to give it a go, try Nature’s Way Beauty Rosehip + Collagen tablets. naturesway.com.au
