The number of adults estimated to be living with diabetes has nearly quadrupled over 35 years, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has said, warning that it has increased drastically because of "the way people eat, move and live". Singapore has the second-highest proportion of diabetics among developed nations, a report in 2015, by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) revealed.
Recent studies demonstrate that hydrogen-rich water health benefits include having a normalising effect on glucose in the body. In combination with powerful antioxidant properties, hydrogen-rich water improves insulin circulation and sensitivity, while also increasing levels of certain compounds that build insulin resistance. The end product is improved glucose metabolism, which can both prevent and slow the development of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and insulin resistance.
Hydrogen (H2) has recently been extensively studied for its therapeutic properties as a health regulator. It removes harmful free radicals to reduce cell damages accumulated, helps to fight against ageing and detoxifies, improving various health conditions and treats critical diseases including several cancers. These studies have analysed the benefits of hydrogen in the prevention and treatment of over 60 diseases including the following:
Diabetes
Cancers
Cardiovascular
Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s
