BREAKTHROUGH
Women's Health|June 2021
Tayshia didn’t want to run. In fact, she “dreaded” the idea. But her dad—a physical activity proponent— insisted she joins the high school cross-country team her freshman year. Eventually, the mix of endorphins, competition, and camaraderie won her over. “It became my favorite thing,” she says. She planned to continue cross-country in college, but a week into her first semester in 2008, she was thrown from a friend’s truck and run over.

BREAKTHROUGH

17 Tayshia was the 17th Bachelorette and will cohost the 17th season of the show.

“Don’t compare yourself with others. When you have confidence and aren’t worrying about everybody else, it changes the game.”
