As a senior citizen at seventy, I have gone through many trials and tribulations all these years. But as a sound opening batsman, I had the guts to face many health hazards with grit and determination. At a young age, I had the problem of piles (with blood), but I made it a point to visit my family doctor and consulted nearby hospitals to make sure of the best ways and means to get rid of the problem. My doctor was a Sikh from Punjab and he gave medicines and advised me to eat Isabgol husk to help me get rid of the constipation problem. He gave me an important tip to push the protruding piles back inside with my finger. This simple method helped me to lead a good life and attend my office duties regularly without taking sick leave throughout my career. The doctor is no more now but still I thank him every day in my mind. The problem is fully cured now and, even at this stage, I feel comfortable and never have any problem.
