Seamus Dinnigan was looking for an apartment when he fell for this freestanding Georgian house in Sydney, taking his life in the first of many new directions.
As children, Seamus and Collette Dinnigan sailed the high seas. “My father was an adventurer and built a yacht when Collette and I were young,” says Seamus. “We sailed halfway around the world and got used to living in small spaces, which gave me a taste of coping with a kitchen like this one,” he adds with a smile. Indeed, the entire house in question, a 70m2 terrace in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, is both compact and shipshape.
Seamus has a great eye for style – honed by working as the creative director of his older sister’s celebrated fashion and design empire – and a passion for art, interiors, plants and flowers. He’d always enjoyed helping Collette style her homes and photographic shoots, so, in 2015, decided to put his stamp on a place of his own.
