Skin and Threads designer Penelope Cohen enlisted interiors stylist Simone Haag to outfit her Melbourne home in a glossy new look.
Simone Haag: With confidence my style has evolved considerably. I used to fear selecting fabrics but now I can honestly say it is the most fun aspect of my job. I have embraced colour so much more, and enjoy guiding a client in that direction. I have no fear about clashing prints or introducing vintage pieces that challenge the norm.
IS YOUR HOME A SANCTUARY OR DOES IT DOUBLE AS A WORK SPACE?
Penelope Cohen: My husband and I both have busy jobs (Penelope is founder and director of fashion label Skin and Threads) and with three kids to juggle, we try as much as possible to keep home as home. I am a very ‘tribal’ person – my family and close friends are ever present, so our home needs to be relaxing and inviting.
WHAT INITIALLY APPEALED TO YOU ABOUT THE SPACE? DID IT REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT ALTERATIONS?
