The Future Bathroom

COVID-19 has forced us to relook at the way we are going to be living our lives in the future, so we need to turn our homes into havens of comfort and enjoyment.

EMBRACING NATURAL ELEMENTS

Much of 2020 was spent indoors, what with the COVID-19 lockdown and working from home. Marketing assistant of Bathroom Butler and LIQUIDRED Dessie Nikolova says, “2020 saw us spending more time indoors than ever before.

“And with the growing trend of working from home, houses will become increasingly decorated with natural elements and greenery such as potted trees and plants, living walls and organic materials, to remind us of the outdoors, bringing nature into our homes.

Plamena Danieli, creative curator of Continua, says, “As we transition into new ways of life, we look at current trends around biophilic bathroom designs and how you can incorporate these soothing qualities into your space. Think green, natural materials and light, airy spaces.”

“This has stimulated a cause in creating wellness areas within the home that radiate a calming ambience. When it comes to selecting materials for your space, start off with the floors, walls and vanities. Our take on biophilic design is a soft neutral colour palette that emits warmth with a play on form, texture and subtle plants.”
