Interior Designer Hemal Shah Fuses Two Varied Styles for the Pepe Jeans’ Mumbai Headquarters That Is Meticulously Planned With Vibrant Interior.
The starting point of the interior design firm’s ideation for the 12,000 sq. ft. Pepe Jeans India Ltd’s office located in Andheri, Mumbai, is based on the brand’s journey from its humble beginning as a regular denim brand to evolving into a high fashion statement. “We decided to go with a fusion of style and fashion; a complete blend of old and new – a cocktail of vintage and contemporary.” says Hemal Shah, Principal Designer, High Standards. The company’s core value of right, wrong, legacy and current position is metaphorically conveyed viz. white, black, old and new elements respectively. This sensibility can be seen in the reception area, where an oxidized metal plate is juxtaposed against a high-gloss black Marquina marble that forms the reception table and the larger area of B&W beyond.
Another interesting aspect about the design is distilled from the fact that Pepe Jeans, was established in Portobello Road in London in 1973.
So, different facets of London are highlighted in different areas of the office to suit varying moods and ambiences. For instance, the B&W vinyl posters of a silhouette of famous London landmarks grace the glass panels of executive cabins; underlying a formal and serious tone.
