The Last Word
IN years to come, writers and historians will reflect on 2017 as being one of the greatest in Celtic’s long and illustrious history.
What was achieved by Brendan Rodgers’ side over the past 12 months was nothing short of remarkable – and historic – and to have witnessed it all first-hand, as a supporter and as part of the club’s multi-media team has been a privilege and a pleasure.
I don’t really go in for New Year resolutions. It ensures I avoid later disappointment when I fail to achieve them. I find it’s better to count my blessings and be thankful for who and what I have in my life and try live every day like it could be my best one.
That goes for being a supporter too. It’s always important to appreciate every success we enjoy, and savour them all, while also remaining optimistic that some of our best days could still be ahead of us.
So, regardless of the occasional disappointment – which, these days comes in the form of a goal-less draw in the Glasgow derby – there is so much to look forward to.
The year ahead could see us achieve back-to-back domestic trebles, and there is the ongoing European campaign that resumes with a tie against Zenit Saint Petersburg.
