Brendan Rodgers is looking forward to Sunday’s presentation celebrations.

Trophy Day Delight For Manager

BRENDAN Rodgers faced 13,000 ecstatic Celtic supporters on the day he was unveiled in Paradise and promised them success, entertaining, attacking football, and a team they could identify with. On Sunday, almost exactly a year to that memorable day, he will finally get his hands on the Scottish Premiership trophy in front of 60,000 fans, having fulfilled his pledge.

A sixth successive title was clinched back in early April without defeat to add to the League Cup triumph in November. There was a return to the UEFA Champions League for the first time in three years and the Hoops are only one victory away from securing a domestic treble in the Scottish Cup final.

Lifting the league silverware in front of the Hoops faithful will be a special moment for the Irishman as he reflected on a sensational first season in charge of the club he has always supported.

“It has been a whirlwind, there is no doubt about that,” he told the View in an exclusive interview. “I was talking to my fiancé, Charlotte about it the other day, and it has certainly been an incredible season. It’s a real joy to be the manager of the club and to work like we have done and for it all to come together.

“It will be very special. It’s a real combination of a lot of work from the staff and the players and a lot of co-operation by everyone. I said when I came in that there are different ways to win and this season we have won in a really good way, and that’s about feeling and emotion.

“It’s quite fitting really in terms of how the team has played, especially in conjunction with the celebrations of the Lisbon Lions, as that squad was about humility, creativity and togetherness - all the key ingredients that make up a team.
