Deep in the countryside a few miles over the Cheshire border, LOUISE TAYLOR finds a spa where it’s impossible not to relax
FOR an hour or two after a blissful afternoon in a dark, silent treatment room, I found it almost impossible to walk straight. If a police officer had asked me to walk along a chalk line they would have been sure I’d been indulging in the Prosecco that guests at Moddershall Oaks can enjoy in the cafe bar.
No drink had been taken but therapist Caroline had worked some kind of magic on me. To be honest, by the time my tired body reached her hands, I was already on my way to a state of serenity.
I’d arrived two hours earlier and been delighted by the setting. It’s the perfect retreat, a purpose-built spa building deep in the countryside, set in sprawling grounds and looking out on rolling hills.
