HULS Gallery Singapore is the local go-to for lovers of Japanese design in Singapore. The concept for the space was born in 2017 from a desire to introduce quality artefacts curated in Japan to Southeast Asia. In doing this, the gallery aims to add cultural value to living spaces both locally and regionally.
The space is located in an open pedestrian street on Duxton Hill. Inside, you’ll find ceramics, lacquerware, glass, textiles, wood and bamboo works produced by over 50 Japanese small-batch manufacturers and artists. These distinctive pieces are traditionally crafted and sourced from local artisans across Japan. In keeping with the country’s reputation for upholding precision and tradition, the designs and production methods have been handed down from generation to generation. Today, a new wave of artisans are actively working with the global business to bring these handmade creations to the rest of the world.
