Creative minds from Arunachal Pradesh are offering online viewers with something refreshingly different.
The Vivid Project started with an aim to introduce Arunachal Pradesh to a new genre of entertainment. A series of 6 episodes were uploaded on YouTube, which featured 6 new generation poets and artists namely Sushant Jha, Oyi Taki, Millo Ankha, Subi Taba, Tai Tugung and Kekho Thiamkho, popularly known as K4Kekho, all of whom gained immense popularity in the State. Since then, The Wildflower Production channel has gained over 5000 subscribers on YouTube with the highest views on the episode titled Asli Reality by Kekho Thiamkho, which has over 1360 views.
From Bud to Bloom
The mastermind behind The Vivid Project is Karry Padu, who is also the director of the Wildflower Production. When she came back home after three and a half years of working in Mumbai as an assistant director to establish a production house in Arunachal Pradesh, she had no idea where to start and was just looking for inspiration. Slowly, she met few writers and artistes and the idea of The Vivid Project was born.
‘The success of The Vivid Project was not an overnight success; a lot of effort had been put into it. The artistes featured in the videos were also part of the crew. It was all about supporting each other in any way we can,’ she recalls. The videos themed ‘Unspoken Truth’ revolves around 6 different poets with totally different themes of poetry, ranging from somewhat rebellious to abstract tone, which shed light on issues like racism, politics, religion and gender equality and also love.

MUSINGS OF A SOLDIER: TIT-BITS
People often ask me about my life out of uniform. Honestly, I have had no problems. Not so far. Instead, I find it quite refreshing. No routine, no parades, no briefing, no impending operations. Having donned the uniform since the age of thirteen until I hung up my boots last year, could I ever visualize life out of uniform? Not really. But, as I said, the transition has been quite smooth–no hang-overs, no regrets. People have been very positive in their interactions. Government departments have been responsive whenever I have approached for assistance. The genuine respect for the uniform is quite evident and it makes my heart swell with pride. Arunachal, to that extent, is the most nationalistic state in the country, I daresay. It has been kind of a revelation for me to experience the freedom of being a common man in an environment of positivity!
