IT'S HARD TO think of any artist who has seized DIY control of the entire production, distribution, promotion and marketing of his music as totally as Jack White. Via his Third Man enterprise he not only has his own studio and record label, but his own mastering facility and pressing plant and a growing chain of record store outlets, including one recently opened in London.
Lockdown hit most people hard, but it was a double blow for the restless, endlessly creative former White Stripes man who also does his own artwork and directs his videos. Not only was he unable to tour, but Third Man was also put on hold.
