The stylish actress isn’t afraid to admit that some roles still scare her. We delved into the (beautiful) mind of Alicia Vikander

What happens when you’re an Oscar winner at 27? You carry on making incredible films with incredible people, that’s what. Swedish-born Alicia Vikander has been the name on every casting director’s lips for the past year after her star roles in Ex Machina, Anna Karenina and The Danish Girl, for which she scored the Academy Award for Best Actress In A Supporting Role.

And it was while filming The Light Between Oceans in 2015 that Alicia met Hollywood hottie Michael Fassbender, 39 – and the pair, who manage to stay well under the showbiz radar, have been together ever since. Not that she gets to see him very often: ‘It’s been hard for me to turn projects down because I worked very hard to get to this point,’ says Alicia. ‘Your personal life kind of goes out the door.’ The talented leading lady is also a style maverick, slaying the red carpet with unique dresses from Louis Vuitton – a brand she’s fronted since last July – and today she looks incredible in a Chanel dress and Manolos. We heart. She’s about to star as a cyber expert in the fifth Jason Bourne film – oh, and she’ll be playing the iconic Lara Croft role in 2018’s Tomb Raider. Alicia’s loving life and it’s not hard to see why…

Hi Alicia. What was it like working on the Jason Bourne film?

I grew up as a big fan of the trilogy and it was a thrill to watch Matt [Damon] on the set with his cap on making his way through crowds. Every time I would see him, I’d be like: ‘Ooh, it’s Jason Bourne!’
