Change is something we deal with throughout our lives, and the past few years have definitely been a roller-coaster of adapting to a constantly changing climate. Family therapist Dr Libby Aitken shares communication techniques and advice on how to best support your child during times of transition.
FOCUS ON LISTENING

“Be a sounding board,” explains Dr Aitken. “Ask your child about their concerns. When you listen, you are helping them work out how to deal with their experiences. Spend time listening to their concerns. Going on a walk together, or finding another activity you both enjoy can be a good place to connect.
