They are by far Married at First Sight’s most successful couple, having fallen for each other after meeting as strangers. But as rumours swirl over just how real the reality TV show is, with whispers of fake couples and suggestions the whole cast are hired actors, it begs the question; are Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson a legitimate couple? Pictures obtained by New Idea show the ex-pro cricketer and business owner arriving separately to the final dinner party and looking unhappy. Now, Cam and Jules set the story straight to New Idea about their relationship.

“The thing is, when you’re around a lot of people who the public can see are maybe not genuine, they obviously start to question what’s real and what’s not,” Jules explains. “I think we’ve been true to ourselves from day one and we’ve been us. “[But] for me, it really, really does [upset me if people think we’re not genuine]. There’s been so many things online saying, ‘they are actors’. You know what, if someone is a lawyer now and they did a TV ad when they were 12, does that mean they’re not a lawyer? No-one is a professional actor in there.
