A bigger bite of the Apple
Stuff India|November 2016

We’ve had plenty of time under our mits with the iPhone 7, 7 Plus, Airpods and the Watch Series 2. Enjoy our findings!

A bigger bite of the Apple

It’s as predictable as autumn. A new iPhone drops on us every October and the vast minority gets ready to camp out and share their starry stories about having gone under the knife to be able to afford the new goodies. We, of course, didn’t have to resort to such histrionics – we were politely handed a bag of tricks that included this year’s precious cargo and we didn’t waste any time tearing it all apart. (No, we didn’t put them in a blender.)

A lot has been said about the new generation of iPhones and for the most part, everyone agrees they’ve made a good thing even better - the camera. But it also comes with a new taptic home button, is ready for some fun under the sun at Suraj Water Park and has an eye wateringly quick A10 Fusion chip. What it doesn’t have is the courtesy to tango with your tangled old headphone. So, the scifi-inspired AirPods make an appearance.

So how do they rate against the Galaxy S7s and OnePlus 3s of this world? Read on across this six-page review special to find out, and get our verdict on whether the wireless AirPods and waterproof Watch Series 2 can make much of a splash...

Plus-sized winner

It’s always been a struggle to reach the top left corner, but with a dual lens camera, the Plus is our pick now from Rs.72,000 / stuff.tv/in/apple/iphone-7-plus/review

Now that the Galaxy Note is all but obliterated from the smartphone treasure map, the iPhone 7 Plus gets to rule the roost unhinged. And it’s so worthy of it.

Not just an enlarged photocopy of the smaller brother, this year’s Plus version gets dual cameras, one for razor-sharp landscapes, and the other a telephoto to get closer to the action, optically. There’s also a 10x digital zoom but it’s more of a binocular mode than a shooting aid.
