As soon as the Y720 is unboxed, you just know it’s a gaming laptop. The typical black and red colour scheme all over and angular looks are big enough clues. More importantly, the build quality is solid and the aluminium finishing feels good in the hand. Opening up the fingerprint magnet lid, we are greeted with a 15.6” FHD screen surrounded by bezels that are slighter thicker than preferable. The brightness is somewhat limited but the decent contrast and viewing angles help in softening the blow.
