TOM EPPERSON
This photo represents the Epperson family in so many ways. It is a family tradition that we do a creative family portrait both for Christmas and for the New Year. Christmas for our family means being together, being creative and silly. We love doing fun and unconventional family portraits because they encapsulate each of our personalities and also our family dynamics. Every year we pick a theme and it is up to each person to wear what he or she feels is best for the concept. This year has not changed that much for us with regards to Christmas; if anything, this pandemic has brought us even closer together.
REGINE DAVID
This image is a collection of our family Zoom chats from the past few months combined with our family portraits for the past few years. As abstract as this image is, to see a visual representation of our previous interactions and celebrations is a comforting sight. It’s been difficult to define the passage of time during this pandemic. Our relationships with our loved ones have been blurred by distance. This year’s Christmas will require more planning than usual. We are spread out all over Metro Manila, so we will most likely be sending each other little gifts and home cooked meals during the holidays. This is an honest image; I can’t quite visualise what Christmas might really be like, so this feels more appropriate for me.
