Take to the skies for hours over scenic Glen Feshie – in summer and winter alike – with the members of Cairngorm Gliding Club
THE views from the Glen Feshie hills at more than914m (3000ft) are some of the best in Scotland. The Cairngorm massif is at your fingertips and the 360-degree panorama takes in Munro after Munro. But can you get anything better than that?
Well, the answer is “yes” – if you happen to be a member of Cairngorm Gliding Club. A mile above the ground in a beautiful clear sky means you attain a view to end all views.
Membership of the club spans seven decades. “Our youngest member at present is about 10 or 11, while the oldest are in their 80s,” says secretary Phil Hawkins. “The youngest age at which students can fly solo is now 14, when by contrast you have to be 17 to drive a car. There is no upper age limit.
