It’s the most wonderful time of the year and for some merry-making celebrities, Christmas is also a period for treasuring milestones and memories
...as a newlywed
The holiday decorations are up everywhere, and the cute Christmas adornments that line the streets add a jolly atmosphere to the air no matter where you are. While the yuletide cheer is palpable for most people, newly-hitched actress Cheryl Wee says the year-end festivities will mark a bittersweet moment for her family.
“Last Christmas was a bit painful for my family, because my late grandmother passed away exactly on Christmas day. She was my maternal grandmother, and of all my grandparents she was the one I was closest to,” explains Cheryl.
“She was very intuitive, and always had the right words or actions to make me feel better. I think she would’ve been very proud and happy to see me get married. So, this Christmas will be in remembrance of her.”
There are also happier tidings on the horizon for the petite entertainer. Having exchanged vows in July this year after a long courtship, Cheryl and her husband, Roy, are looking forward to their first holiday as an officially married couple.
“We’ve spent 12 or 13 Christmases as a couple but as newlyweds, it’ll be our first celebration together. I think it’s very nice that we’re married now and I’m looking forward to our next Christmas when we have a child together. I think that will be an exciting chapter for us,” Roy confesses.
