Shore thing
What's On Dubai|August 2020
Is there anything finer than sun, sand, sea and that smug feeling that you don’t have to work for a few days? Here’s your guide to the world’s best beaches
Shore thing

01

ANSE GEORGETTE, PRASLIN, SEYCHELLES

Nestled into a secluded bay sheltered from view by glorious foliage and dramatic granite boulders is the beautiful Anse Georgette, declared one of the most picturesque beaches in the world. Pink sands glide hypnotically across delicious Praslin, one of the 115 components of this lusted-after archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Accessible via a beautiful nature trail from Constance Lémuriae, the beach laps against blue waters.

SPOTTED: Emma Watson, Kate Middleton

02

WAILEA, MAUI, HAWAII

Along the bright, white curve of Wailea’s main beach you’ll find arty enclaves and sculpture galleries, shaved ice stands and hula bars. In the water, try your hand at snorkelling, diving and paddleboarding. At night, oil torches are lit along the coast and the soft sound of Polynesian music drifts across the water – a truly hypnotic combination. A Mai Tai at the impossibly named Humahumanukanukaapuaa in the Grand Wailea Resort is a treat.

SPOTTED: Oprah Winfrey, Owen Wilson
