Reader Challenge
Outdoor Fitness|October - November 2017

The three co-founders of TRIBE organised and completed a 2000km duathlon this summer, running then cycling from Sarajevo to London. Tom Stancliffe takes up their story.

Reader Challenge

WE DIVIDED THE challenge into three stages; a 250-mile run from Sarajevo to Zagreb, covering 35 miles per day; then a 1,000-mile ride from Zagreb to the UK, riding 125 miles per day; and finishing with a 20-mile run along the North Downs Way on the final day. Me and my TRIBE colleagues, Guy and Rob, and about 10 others did the whole trip; about 75 people did stages one and two and 250 did the final stage.

It’s amazingly bonding to push yourselves that hard, and it was great to see that camaraderie between people who didn’t really know each other beforehand. It was a very special few weeks.
