IF I HAD to pick my favourite scent for 2020, it might well be K by Dolce and Gabbana. It wasn’t just the packaging — with a crown that doubles as a bottlecap — that stood out, but an olfactory experience par excellence. D&G hasn’t waited too long to unveil the second chapter in this new olfactory journey. The K EDP picks up the threads with the promise of the same zesty vibe coupled with the intensity of an EDP.
The same chiselled flacon is back. It’s now dressed in a deeper hue of regal blue in lacquered glass. The iconic crown which tops the signature silhouette, is now overlaid with a burnished silver patina, accentuating the noble blue of its lapis dome and the stone-like orbs that encircle it. Master perfumers Daphne Bugey and Nathalie Lorson have revisited the original scent for everyday kings with an emphasis on a new spiciness and a stronger woody base.
This Eau de Parfum opens with an invigorating fusion of zesty citruses — sparkling blood orange with lemon torchio essence. Cardamom adds a new spicy edge that is sharpened by the fresh tang of juniper berries while the sensual base includes cedarwood, vetiver and patchouli. This scent scores on both the longevity and sillage fronts. It’s just what you need for a long summer’s day in the office.

ISSEY MIYAKE FUSION D’ISSEY FOR MEN
THE newest interpretation of the legendary L’Eau d’Issey men’s scent is positioned as a story of contrasts. Master perfumer Nathalie Lorson (who has also worked on Givenchy’s Gentleman series) collaborates with Issey Miyake in a fragrance that swings from lively citrus to volcanic woods.
