Warriors get red card instead of winning try

The Scots had won the Pool 2 battle with the same opponents in the Stade Marcel Deflandre last week and knew that another victory at Scotstoun would keep them in the mix to progress with Exeter Chiefs and Sale Sharks.

However, La Rochelle had other ideas and headed back to France with their first European win of the campaign.

The 12-7 scoreline does not tell the full story though of the late drama.

The Warriors thought they had scored a well-worked try in the 79th minute through the second row Scott Cummings to level things at 12-12.

As stand-off, Adam Hastings lined up the potentially match-winning conversion referee Wayne Barnes began a dialogue with TMO Rowan Kitt.
