UK Has Power To Be Energy Self-Sufficient

With gloomy predictability our witless government is steering us into a major and crippling energy crisis. Two facts are blazingly obvious.

One is that a modern country, to be prosperous and with contented citizens, requires huge quantities of energy – all the time, utterly reliable and affordable. The other is that no country remains sovereign whose energy supply is at the whim of others, possibly a hostile dictatorship.

We think the opening of Nord Stream 2 carrying Russian gas, and with her own nuclear power-generating industry dismantled, Germany is effectively the servant of Moscow now. This once formidable economic superpower is crumbling in the world rankings. An object lesson to us all.

But obsessed by the pipe dream of zero-carbon the dumbos in Whitehall are frittering our chances of future energy security, despite our huge available advantages.
