Two sisters who reportedly called their dad The Chequebook have lost a second legal fight with their stepmum over his fortune.

A judge had already thrown out the case Juliet Miles and Lauretta Shearer brought against Pamela Shearer, who was given almost total control of the £7million left behind by banker Tony Shearer when he died in October 2017.

Their lawyers claimed judge Sir Julian Flaux was “perverse” in doing so.

Mr Shearer, former head of merchant bank Singer and Friedlander and finance governor of Rugby School, was 68 when he lost his battle with a brain tumour.

Earlier this year, the sisters lost a High Court claim against Pamela, 68, after demanding “maintenance” from their dad’s estate to replace the “generous financial provision” they expected from him while alive.
