England’s Euro 2020 semi-final extra-time win triggered scenes of jubilation across the country on a night that many fans will never forget.
People spilled out of pubs and from their front rooms in towns and cities to cheer, chant and beep their horns after Harry Kane’s winner against Denmark.
They lit fireworks, waved flags and pumped their fists in the air to salute Gareth Southgate’s stars, who won 2-1 after extra time at Wembley in front of 60,000 fans including Gazza and Becks.
In Central London, foolhardy supporters managed to get on top of a doubledecker bus, bringing the area to a standstill.
The fired-up fans clambered on the vehicle’s roof in Piccadilly Circus before dancing and singing as crowds swarmed in the street below.
