STEPHEN DOBBIE saw Kenny Miller steal the limelight with a hat-trick at his testimonial.
Then the Dumfries legend admitted the ex-Scotland striker was also a big reason he never won a single cap.
Dobbie rolled back the years as over 2100 punters braved the freezing temperatures to pay tribute three years after the 41-year-old pulled the curtain down on his Palmerston career during the Covid season.
Dobbie's former Hibs mate Scott Brown pulled together a star-studded Scotland select side to help boost the crowd then helped his pal get on the scoresheet by dragging him down for a penalty.
That Palmerston strike followed a sensational 166 goals in 283 appearances for the Doonhamers over two spells for Dobbie whose career included three successive Championship play-off finals in England with Swansea and Blackpool.
But incredibly he never won a Scotland cap in a career that saw him net 236 club goals in 610 games.
