The London-born actress, 25, said she started taking Xanax to ease her panic attacks but that four years ago her addiction spiralled out of control. In an interview, she said she would “never consider” taking the drug again thanks to the support from her family and partner, director Jimmy Giannopoulos.
McGregor is the daughter of Scottish actor Ewan and set designer Eve Mavrakis. The couple, who have four daughters, split in 2017. In June this year Ewan and his new partner, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, had a son, Laurie.
