€1.5m Raid On Gang ‘using Health Crisis As A Cover'

Drugs gangs are believed to be using healthcare workers as cover to ply their evil trade.

Concern has been raised after gardai arrested two men and a woman and recovered €1.1million worth of cocaine and more than €500,000 in cash.

One of those detained in what officers believe was a drugs handover is understood to be a healthcare employee whose car had an associated logo.

It is feared the ruthless gangsters are coercing healthcare workers to shift cash and drugs to escape the notice of gardai during the pandemic.

It has also emerged one of those arrested is a major figure in one of the gangs involved in the murderous Drogheda drugs feud.
