India has asked China to withdraw its troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh sector to pre-May 4 positions, sources in the Indian Army said. During the ongoing Corps commander-level talks, India has told China to submit a timeline of troop withdrawal from the LAC areas, sources said.
India and China are holding the second round of Corps Commander-level talks on the Chinese side of the border to discuss and resolve the violent face-off between the Indian and the Chinese troops in Ladakh.
The high-level talks between India and China come a week after 20 Indian Army personnel, including a Colonel, were killed in a violent clash between the two sides in Galwan Valley of Ladakh, the biggest military confrontation between the two countries in over five decades.
The meeting between Corps commanders of India and China has been called by the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
The talks were scheduled to start at 11.30 am at Moldo on the Chinese side of Chushul sector in eastern Ladakh.
The Indian delegation is being led by 14 Corps Commander Lt Gen Harinder Singh.
