I’m sure everyone has their own stories to tell about Covid-19. Each one with their fair share of struggles, all unique and incomparable to one another.
Even as many families continue to suffer being apart due to intercity, provincial, and regional isolation protocols, I am blessed to be able to stay in quarantine with my family. The lockdown brought my family and I physically closer. It has also enabled me to develop a better appreciation for my husband Jacob who has played a crucial role in helping me cope through our current circumstances.
Personally, home quarantine in March and April initially felt like a breath of fresh air. With our operations suspended during the first wave of ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine), I was suddenly forced to stay home 24/7 and bonding with my family was a welcome change. I even fulfilled some traditional wifely roles for a while, preparing a few basic breakfasts for the household, which I never usually do.
