A pilgrimage to eight churches

Make sure to get a pilgrim passport if you are planning to visit the different Jubilee Churches in your diocese.

The pilgrim passport is available from the parish office of any of the Jubilee churches such as the Diocese of Maasin in Leyte and the Diocese of Iba in Zambales.

Catholic prelates started opening the Jubilee doors of the pilgrim churches in their respective dioceses on April 4, in celebration of the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines. There are more than 500 declared Jubilee Churches in the country, eight in Maasin and seven in Iba.

The Jubilee Churches in the Diocese of Maasin are Shrine of the Holy Cross and the First Mass, Magallanes, Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte; The Maasin Cathedral, Maasin City, Southern Leyte; San Isidro Chapel, Punta, Baybay City, Leyte; Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Hilongos, Leyte; Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Baybay City, Leyte; Santo Niño Church, Malitbog, Southern Leyte; Saint Joseph Church, Matalom, Leyte and Saint John the Baptist Church, San Juan, Southern Leyte.

In the Diocese of Iba, the Jubilee Churches are St. Michael the Archangel Parish (Sta. Cruz, Zambales), San Andres Parish (Masinloc, Zambales), St. Augustine Cathedral Parish (Iba, Zambales), Ina Poonbato Chapel (Botolan, Zambales), St. James Parish (Subic, Zambales), San Roque Chapel (Subic Bay, Olongapo City), and St. Joseph Parish (Olongapo City).
