MS monster took mum. We must do more to help its victims

One of Scotland’s rising stars has opened his heart about the loss of his mum to multiple sclerosis.

Actor Lewis MacDougall had the lead role in A Monster Calls, a film dealing with a young boy coping with his mother’s death from cancer, when he was just 12 – a year after the death of his own mum Fiona at 53.

He most recently had a role in the BBC drama His Dark Materials and is now auditioning for new projects.

In the lead-up to the Scottish Parliament elections, Lewis, 18, wanted to share his story about how his family was affected by MS and back the call for the new government to raise the standard of MS services across the country, particularly after Covid.
