New Delhi: A rain-lashed day didn’t deter Ayush Kumar from returning to school after 17 months on Wednesday. When the lockdown was declared in March last year, Kumar was in the middle of his final Class VII exams. His days in Class VIII after promotion were spent getting notes on WhatsApp and talking to teachers over the phone and through messaging.
As he sat on the last bench of Class IX on the ground floor at Government Boys’ Senior Secondary School in Ghitorni, Kumar happily answered questions asked by his Sanskrit teacher, though at times his efforts were hampered by the mask that he constantly wore.
