Vaccinated? You Still Need To Follow Covid-Appropriate Behaviour!

From June 7,states across the country started gradually reopening. However, with a small percentage of people vaccinated, doctors say venturing out isn’t a good idea regardless of whether you are vaccinated or not.

In fact, they say staying indoors and wearing a mask if stepping out is as important for those who are not vaccinated,as for those starting their post-vaccine life. Reason? Vaccines provide protection, not prevention.

‘YOUR VACCINE WILL NOT TAKE YOU BACK TO 2019’

Doctors say that people should stop thinking about going back to normal because there is no getting back to normal – at least not anytime soon. Dr Ashvind Bawa, Surgeon and Associate Professor, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, says, “Even if you are vaccinated, you should know that this vaccine is not going to take you back to 2019 – the pre-pandemic year. It only offers protection. Now we know that vaccinated people can spread the virus, and can get COVID.” If you and the people you want to meet are all vaccinated, would it be completely safe to socialise with them? Dr Ashvind replies, “The answer is no, and we are requesting people to continue staying at home for the next two three months.”
