Mining Scam Accused Are White Ration Card Holders

Hyderabad: Investigations into the Palnadu illegal limestone mining scam case have revealed that seven persons among the accused, who were named by the CBI, are white ration cardholders. In the Rs 130 crore scam, the CBI said in its FIR that around 70 to 90 lakh metric tonnes of minestone had been allegedly mined over the years.

• Some of them are expected to be benamis of politicians

• Between 2014 and 2018, quarries in Pidiguralla and Dachepalli areas were taken over by the accused named in CBI case

• CBI conducted searches on former TDP MLA Y Srinivas and his followers
