It is learnt that a friend following them on another bike dashed into them at high speed.
Kherwadi police named the deceased as Prashant Singh (22) and Tejas Solanki (21). The survivor, Valrino Samson (22), reportedly rode the bike without a helmet. Samson suffered fractures on his legs and was booked for rash and negligent driving. Police said Singh and Solanki could have survived had they worn helmets.
The incident occurred at around 2.10am on the northbound stretch of the Western Express Highway. The mishap occurred as soon as they got on to the flyover. They hit the divider and were thrown on the other side of the road.
